吉田敦YOSHIDA Atsushi

1967年出生於日本群馬縣,來台8年,現定居於彰化。1993年自日本多摩美術大學美術研究科雕塑專攻畢業,曾於日本多摩美術大學雕塑系擔任兼任講師,現為大葉大學造形藝術學系副教授,作品於日本、中國、台灣等地皆有展出。創作多取材自日常生活中常見的廢棄素材,具有對於土地環境的觀察及省思,並期望藉創作喚醒大眾對於環境的重視。 YOSHIDA Atsushi, born in Gunma, Japan in 1967, lived in Taiwan for 8 years and now settled in Changhua. He graduated from Japan Tama Art University, Department of Sculpture in 1993. He was a lecturer at the Department of Sculpture in Tama Art University, and now is an associate professor at the Department of Plastic Arts in Da-Yeh University. His creations usually made of the common waste material from daily life and were exhibited in Japan, China and Taiwan. There were the observation and reflection of the environment and the land in his creations, which also hoped to evoke the public awareness of the environment.

沒有火就不會冒煙出來,有煙的地方一定會有火。地球上,會起火,會用火的動物只有人類。而人在製造火的時候,無論是吃的,錢的,祭祀的,愛欲的,滅亡的,還是破壞的⋯等等,一定含有個人的欲望。在現代生活環境中,從工廠排出來大量的「煙」亦是欲望的顯現。

2011年3月12日福島核電廠的反應爐機組爆發則讓我深刻感覺到,這是史上最大規模「欲望的煙」亦是「欲望的森林」。 The smoke would not be appeared without fire. Human is the only one species who can lighta fire.Moreover, human’s desire must be revealed as someone make it whether it is greed for food, money, ritual, destruction or any others. The “'smoke”' which emitted from factories is also the revelation of desire.Then I felt that “the smoke of desire” would must be “the forest of desire” when I saw the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster happened.

「我們有時不想被知道自己的存在,不希望被注意到住在什麼地方生活;也有時候想與其他人、其他東西、其他風景同化,因為這樣比較舒適、安全,我們是具有自衛本能的有機體。」
在家附近的空地裡發現了工廠廢棄的零件,看起來如同面具或是一張臉。當這白色的東西覆蓋地球表面、並形成新的階層,似乎乾淨,但實際上是一個無情、寒冷、無機、什麼都沒有、寂寞孤獨的世界。沒有任何東西在動,挖出這白色地層時,可能發現屍體白骨架,或是女孩沉默地躲埋其中,正在等待誰被救出。如果未來人類有可能被廢棄物掩埋,想一想也有點可怕,因此現在是時候採取措施。 '' Sometimes, we just don't want to be detected or to be knew where we lives.We want to be assimilated in someone or something from time to time, because we're the organism who have the instinct of self-defense.And it's may make us feel more comfortable and safe. ''

The discarded elements that I discovered in a vacant land just like a face or a mask. It is clear, inorganic and lonely.Perhaps the skeleton of corpse, or even the hidden girl may be discovered as the white stratum dug up.Then I just thought that it would be horrible if one day human buried by the industrial wastes in the future, so I had to takean action at that time.
